What is smile analysis/smile design?

Smile analysis is a process that helps us in determining the proper aesthetics for your smile in relationship to your facial symmetry, lip line and phonetics. Each person has a unique "perfect" smile, one that is proportional and flattering to your face.

Smile analysis is both a science and an art. We’ll take photographs of your smile and measure the current proportions of your teeth and gums. Then, using the “golden proportions”that artists have used since the time of Leonardo da Vinci, we will redesign your smile. This may involve changing the shape, size, color or position of your teeth so that we create a beautiful new smile with comfortable neuromuscular occlusion.

For us, the most rewarding part of this process is watching patients’reactions when they see their new smiles for the first time. We see an immediate change in their confidence and in their interaction with others—they’re ready to smile at the world! Those first, wonderful smiles remind us of why we got involved in dentistry in the first place—to help others.
